In Castellbisbal (Barcelona), five people from the same family got sick because the cooker and brazier in their house didn’t burn properly.
The Generalitat Fire Department said on Christmas Day, Thursday December 25th, that at 5:22 p.m. on Wednesday, 112 got a call from a family saying that an 82-year-old woman was showing signs of being sick.
People who were poisoned have been moved to hospitals in Martorell and Terrassa. The family members had opened the windows and let air into the house by the time two fire teams and personnel of the Emergency Medical System (SEM) got there.
Firefighters checked out the residence and found a butane stove and a brazier that might have problems with combustion.
Finally, the SEM experts took five people to hospitals in Martorell and Terrassa (Barcelona) with mild inhalation poisoning. They were 82, 56, 49, 24, and 20 years old.
