The Las Torres de Cotillas Local Police arrested someone for riding an e-scooter while drunk, without a helmet or reflective vest, and in the wrong direction at night. This put his safety and the safety of other road users in great danger.
The officers stopped the e-scooter (PMV) because they saw it driving in an irregular manner. When they found out the person didn’t have any papers, they took them to the police station to get the right identity. Pablo Alberto Ruiz, the Councillor for Citizen Security, says, “The person was very aggressive and disrespected the officers, made threats, and even attacked one of them, so he was arrested.”
The City Council wants to remind everyone that when driving a personal mobility vehicle (PMV), they must also follow the rules of the road, have their own personal documents, and wear the right safety gear, especially at night.Respect and living together are important for road safety. And of course, personal mobility vehicles (PMVs) have to follow the rules too. That’s what our local police are working on. Mayor Pedro José Noguera says, “We will not put up with violent attitudes or actions that put others in danger.”
